Giancarlo and Adriana first met during their undergraduate years at the same university, where they both played on the school’s soccer team. Between practices, classes, and even working together at Chipotle, their paths crossed often — though their first time hanging out was, admittedly, a bit awkward. It wasn’t exactly a vibe, and they decided to remain acquaintances within their soccer circle.

A year later, everything changed. With a new academic year came a new connection, and this time, they truly clicked. As part of the same friend group, they grew closer over the next six months and decided to give things another try — and this time, it was a complete 180.

During their college years, Giancarlo and Adriana spent countless days walking the fields behind Adriana’s home, surrounded by California poppies. They brought along their beloved dog, Santo, worked out together, laughed endlessly, and discovered just how much they had in common. Life felt simple, joyful, and full.

Their journey continued as they pursued their master’s degrees together at Corban University in Oregon, where they once again played soccer side by side. After graduating, Giancarlo followed his dream of playing professional soccer, while Adriana held things down back home. This chapter led them into four years of long distance — a season marked by growth, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment.

Through the highs and lows — long distance, loss, and life’s challenges — their faith anchored them. If you know Giancarlo and Adriana, you know they are always laughing, smiling, and finding joy together. They are ambitious, driven, caring, and deeply committed to serving one another and walking hand in hand under the Lord.

From navigating their early twenties to now intentionally building a life together, their love has only grown stronger.

Giancarlo proposed to Adriana in the very same California poppy fields — on the same day and in the same spot where he first asked her to be his girlfriend, a place filled with memories of love, growth, and Santo by their side. And she said yes.
